This page is for you if you have already been told you need an operation, here or somewhere else. It shows which operations Dr. Santosh does here, and how each one is done.
If you came with a symptom rather than an operation, start with what we treat instead. Most symptoms do not end in an operation, and those pages say what is tried first.
Every operation page opens with the four facts people ask first

Then what usually happens: when it is offered, what it involves, the recovery week by week, and what is watched for. You should be able to read all of that before you decide. If you have been advised one of these elsewhere, bring the paperwork.
A second opinion is a full consultation and it is allowed to end with "you do not need this".
Nose and sinuses
For nose operations Dr. Santosh uses a thin camera (the endoscopic method) with a microdebrider.

A bent wall between the nostrils (deviated septum) blocking one or both sides.
- Turbinate reduction
Swollen shelves inside the nose (turbinates) that medicine no longer controls.
- Endoscopic sinus surgery
Sinusitis that has gone on for months (chronic sinusitis) and has not settled on treatment.
- Nasal polyp surgery
Soft growths (polyps) blocking the nose and dulling smell.
- Septorhinoplasty
A nose that is both blocked and out of shape.
Throat and voice
For the tonsils and the gland behind the nose (adenoids), Dr. Santosh uses coblation.

Repeated tonsillitis, or tonsils obstructing sleep.

Mouth-breathing, snoring, blocked nose in a child.
- Sleep apnoea surgery
Obstructive sleep apnoea, after a sleep study.
- Vocal cord polyp surgery
Hoarseness that has not recovered with voice therapy.
- Tympanoplasty
A hole in the eardrum that has not healed.
- Myringotomy and grommets
Fluid trapped behind a child's eardrum, dulling hearing.
- Mastoidectomy
An ear infection that has gone on for months (chronic), or cholesteatoma, in the bone behind the ear.
- Stapedotomy
A stiff hearing bone (otosclerosis).
Neck and thyroid

Thyroid nodule, goitre, or a gland pressing on the windpipe.

a swelling in the neck
Hoarseness lasting more than three weeks, a neck lump, one-sided ear blockage in an adult, or blood-stained nasal discharge should be examined without waiting. These are usually minor. They are also how something more serious would first show itself, so an early look is what settles it.
